What’s The Best Material?

Wood railings

Wood feels warm and classic, but if you want to keep it that way, there’s a lot of maintenance. If you don’t want it to rot or get warped, you need to sand, stain, and seal it often. In Toronto’s wet springs and icy winters, even premium hardwoods can deteriorate fast.

Cast iron railings

Cast iron might be heavy and durable, but it can also easily crack from any impacts or the movement of the ground. You don’t see it used often for railings because it can’t flex or handle tension well, which is horrible with our constant changing temperatures.

Wrought iron railings

Modern wrought iron railings are strong, flexible, and built to last. They resist rust with proper finishing, you’re able to get the exact design you want, and they’re super low maintenance.

For balcony and deck railings, you need something that’s safe while also looking good for years. Making our wrought iron products the obvious choice!

    FAQs

We start with a precise on-site measurement, even a 1/4-inch off can throw everything off. Then we go over any design elements you want, create your iron railings in our shop, and install them at your home.

With proper finishing and installation, 30+ years, easily. Ours are built with the same mindset, no shortcuts, no thin metal, just durable craftsmanship.

Almost none. A quick rinse with a garden hose a few times a year is usually enough. No painting, no sanding, no sealing. If you live near road salt, an occasional wipe-down helps.

It starts before you even see them, we sandblast the metal, apply a zinc-rich primer, then seal it under a UV- and moisture-resistant powder coat, inside every tube and weld. That triple-layer defense is why our iron railings don’t rust, even after harsh winters.

In Ontario, it’s not just preference, it’s code. If your deck is more than 60 cm (24 inches) off the ground, railings must be at least 90 cm (36 inches) high. For balconies or decks over 1.8 m (6 feet) up, they need to be 107 cm (42 inches). We design to these standards by default, so you’re always compliant and safe.
